Team Survivor Northwest provides hope and healing through fitness for female cancer survivors. We supply a broad range of fitness and health education programs to enable women cancer survivors, in any stage of treatment or recovery and at any fitness level, to take an active role in thier ongoing physical and emotional healing. Our programs include walking, running, hiking, mountain climbing, marathon and triathlon training, cycling, swimming, indoor fitness training and yoga.
Founded in 1995 by oncologist, researcher and medical school professor Dr. Julie Gralow, Team Survivor Northwest has grown to serve over 5000 female cancer survivors in Washington State, the state with the highest incidence of breast cancer in the nation. There is now an average of 16,000 newly diagnosed cases of cancer in women in the state per year for the most recent five years . We are committed to increasing the quality and quantity of life for these women through fitness. Program participants range in age from 18 to 80 and are representative of both the ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of the region. We are grateful for the generosity of individual donors and grantors, the energy of our volunteers and the expertise of our fitness trainers to supply women with healing fitness opportunities.
