Description

Texans Can Academies have proudly served their communities for over 25 years by providing a model that offers an academically rich curriculum where the focus is on the individual student. Texans Can Academies are free public high schools of choice. Our students enroll in our schools because they are seeking a non-traditional opportunity to earn a high school diploma. A total of 4,500 students attend one of our 10 premier charter school campuses across the state of Texas (Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio). Since 1985, over 12,000 students have graduated from Texans Can Academies high schools, including 1,200 students who graduated during the 2010-2011 school year. Our students enjoy small class sizes, with an 18 to 1 student-to-teacher ratio and receive individual counseling with a 90 to 1 student-to-counselor ratio (compared to an average ratio of 450 to 1 in traditional public high schools). Texans Can Academies offer morning and afternoon sessions every weekday. Students may attend classes in either the morning or afternoon, or both, depending on their work and family responsibilities. Dallas Can Academy has four campuses located in Pleasant Grove, East Dallas, Carrollton/Farmers Branch and Oak Cliff. All four campuses are open-enrollment charter high schools that are home to students from all over Dallas County. Dallas Can Academy's school model provides students the tools and flexibility they need to succeed and earn their high school diplomas.
