Mission Statement

Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. rescues dogs of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters reducing the numbers being euthanized daily. Our goal is to fulfill the dreams of dogs who find themselves abandoned in shelters.

Description

OPH Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization devoted to the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of dogs who have overcome great odds and deserve wonderful, caring forever homes. These dogs are rescued from overcrowded high kill shelters in the southern region of the United States. We also rescue a few international dogs partnering with shelters and rescues in India and Turks & Caicos who rescue dogs from dangerous and deplorable conditions.

OPH does not operate a shelter or have a physical location. We rely on foster families who open their homes to give love and attention to each dog while it waits for a forever home. In addition, we partner with wonderful boarding facilities who care for our rescue dogs. Through the foster program and our partners, we learn about each dog and its needs. These dogs have been through a lot and it may take days or weeks to allow their personality to completely unfold . We strive to provide as many details as possible to potential and future adopters which increases the likelihood of a good match for each dog and family.

Together We Rescue.

I have been a foster with Operation Paws for Homes (OPH) since 2017. I have fostered over 30 amazing dogs, and had the honor of helping them to find their perfect family- what could be better than that? OPH has an amazing foster program: When you sign up to foster, you are assigned a foster mentor that guides you through your first few fosters and answers all your questions. OPH provides all the supplies- Crates, food, toys, treats, leashes, harnesses, etc.- you just provide the love and cuddles! Even if you can't commit to full time fostering- OPH is always looking for people to do weekend pup-overs and foster sitting! Check out the website at ophrescue.org to learn more!

I have been with Operation Paws for Homes (OPH) since May 2020. I am an active foster mom and assist with transport. I have fostered 42 amazing pups! OPH is dedicated to saving and finding the best home for all the wonderful dogs and cats. It's been very rewarding to be a part of this wonderful organization. The support and relationship you build with the staff and other volunteers are a bonus. If you can't foster, that's okay, there are so many opportunities with OPH. I encourage you to please visit their website at www.ophrescue.org for more information and how to get involved. I absolutely recommend this amazing organization. Adopt. Donate. Volunteer. Together we can make a difference in every pups lives!

I would recommend my friends to volunteer for this position because they are also animals lovers and they would love to help make sure each and every animal at this facility goes to a safe home with people who are capable of loving and providing a good home for the animal.
