Mission Statement

The love of Christ impels the Church, through the lay faithful, to serve those in need through Christ's healing and empowering ministry. Those who participate, go to experience Christ and share in His mission, in and through bonds of solidarity with their Latin American counterparts through service to the poor. Through us, a channel is created, with ecumenical and interfaith sensibility, that provides an opportunity for sharing expertise and resources that benefit the poor.

Description

At Solidarity Bridge - The Chicago Catholic Medical, Enterprise, and Education Missions we are called to serve the poor by providing critical medical care, business consulting, and educational partnership to the poverty stricken Bolivian people. In our first nine missions, 105 missioners have gone to Bolivia, some many times. Our Medical Mission program is a partnership between U.S. and Bolivian, primarily surgical, medical personnel who serve the poor in their critical health needs. On our journeys, we have delivered roughly $1,000,000 worth of medicines and equipment, seen over 4,230 patients, and performed 459 surgeries. Our Enterprise Mission facilitates market expansion for poor Bolivian entrepreneurial cooperatives and non-profits. Our Education Mission teams Chicago educators with Bolivian counterparts in an effort to build solidarity between the two.
