Description

Friends of Kings Peak was formed in 2011 as a 501(c)3 non-profit, to solve some of the defered maintenence issues in the National Forests surrounding Kings Peak.

Threatened government shut downs and decreasing Federal budgets have hurt the amount and quality of work performed by Forest Service personnel. Friends of Kings Peak is currently applying for grants to increase the amount of work that occurs, by trying to fund dedicated crews.

We are also striving to increase the amount and quality of volunteerism in the area. Thanks to this, we will enable users of these areas to have a much more natural and wild experince. It will also decrease the frequency of search and rescue operations in the Kings Peak area.
