Mission Statement

Shun the Sun was founded to raise awareness of the damage that early and prolonged sun exposure can cause through education and the building of Shade Stuctures over our community schools and sport complexes. We have to many children in Arizona, exposed to sweltering heats high above what our bodies can handle. Unfortunately, schools do not have funding for this kind of protection. This is where the Shun the Sun foundation can help!

Description

Shun the Sun is dedicated to protecting our children and we achieve this mission by visiting schools throughout the valley, providing Education and Awareness about the devastating effects of skin cancer.

Our primary fundraising event each year is the "Shun the Sun Skin Cancer Run". All proceeds from this event go directly to fulfilling the Shun the Sun mission by providing:

*Education & Prevention of Skin Cancer.

*Building protective shade structures for our community schools and sport complexes.

*Building the number one skin cancer research & treatment facility in the nation, right here in AZ!
