LCAV was founded in 1993 in response to an assault weapon massacre in San Francisco, California that took the lives of nine people and injured five others. A non-profit organization, LCAV is committed to reducing gun violence through education and regulation.
Description
Legal Community Against Violence is a gun violence prevention organization, staffed principally by lawyers, dedicated to making the complex legal and policy issues surrounding firearms regulation accessible to concerned communities, groups and individuals seeking positive regulatory change. The organization was founded in 1993 in response to an assault weapons massacre in San Francisco. The Firearms Law Center, a project of LCAV, serves communities throughout the country, providing information and assistance on the legal context of firearms policy reform.
