Mission Statement

Tropicalclinics mission is to save children's lives from malnutrition and vaccine-related diseases; prevent maternal and newborn deaths at child-birth; and give quality of lives to HIV/AIDS patients in rural areas of Kenya.

Description

TropicalClinics is a 501 (c) (3) U.S. Nonprofit Corporation and a Non-Government Organization in Kenya, East Africa. The organization’s principle operating office is in Princeton, New Jersey. In Kenya, the organization offers medical solutions to women and children by reducing transfer of HIV infection from mother-to-child at birth; preventing pregnancy related deaths; and reducing malnutrition and vaccine-preventable disease in children. In working with district and provincial health officials TropicalClinics has set up one-of-a-kind health center to improve access to basic essential obstetric care, screen for cervical and breast cancer, protect rural children from HIV infection at birth, immunize children against vaccine preventable diseases, and deliver life-saving Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART) and nutritional support to HIV infected patients. TropicalClinics has formed community health committees and is training traditional birth attendants to increase community awareness on health, nutrition, hygiene, HIV/AIDS, and environmental sanitation. We are one of the few health centers in the region with a combined treatment center, dignostic center and pharmacy in the same clinic set up!
