Mission Statement

The Mecklenburg County Humane Society (MCHS) is the oldest Humane Society in Mecklenburg County and was established in 1938. We are an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving animal welfare through a targeted spay/neuter program in conjunction with humane education programs. (We are not affiliated with the Humane Society of Charlotte.)

Description

For over 60 years, we have been dedicated to educating children and adults about responsible pet ownership, the importance of adopting homeless animals and the urgency of spaying or neutering their pets. We also work to provide effective means for the prevention, suppression, and relief of cruelty to animals.
