Mission Statement
Serving Hall County and northeast Georgia since 1913, the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) provides vital services to animals and people alike. Its mission is to create a community recognized for responsible pet ownership and humane treatment of animals through offering basic pet wellness and spay-neuter services, public education, and placement of companion animals. A private, non-profit organization, HSNEGA receives no monies from national humane organizations or county, state, or federal governments. Instead, we are supported solely by private donations, grants, bequests, investments, and some fees.
Description
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA)! HSNEGA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a small staff that relies heavily on volunteers. Each year, more than 300 volunteers donate upwards of 20,000 hours giving hands-on care to animals, raising much-needed funds for HSNEGA, educating the community, assisting in the Healthy Pet Clinic, providing administrative and facility support, and more. HSNEGA volunteers report experiencing a deep sense of satisfaction from improving the lives of rescued animals while working alongside others who share the desire to build a better future for all animals in northeast Georgia.
We provide training for all volunteer positions, so no prior experience is required. Whether nursing a baby kitten, working with potential adopters to find the right fit for their family, or helping to make an event successful, you can be a part of the LIFE-SAVING work we do!
