PANAMANIAN FOLKLORE DANCERS
The Panamanian Folklore Dancers of Killeen is a 501 © (3) non- profit organization founded to promote the dances and traditions of Panama in the United States of America, and to contribuye to the enrichment of this country as well. The group was formally organized in June of 1986 by Catalina Schessler, and the help of other native Panamanian members, who wanted to learn and promote their culture also. It was originally formed by 14 to 18 members and it has continued to average this many members. We have trained women, men, youth, and children.
We have performed in many occasions and places. It is not possible to complete the numerous shows and contributions we have made during these years, but we feel pride in establishing our culture in the State ofTexasand participating in the initial years of the Panamanian "Encuentros" in theUnited Statessince 1997.
