Mission Statement

New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI) is a not-for-profit legal office that finds unique ways to tackle the problems faced by low-income and under-represented people throughout New York City.

Description

NYLPI's Disability Law Center (DLC) works to enable people with disabilities to participate fully in the mainstream of American society and to dispel the notion that people with mental or physical disabilities are incapable of experiencing fully realized and accomplished lives. The core of the DLC's work is impact litigation and advocacy, but staff members also advise and provide referrals and information to individuals who call the office seeking help.
