Mission Statement

Sound Tacoma United for Fairness (STUFF) advocates for legislation and elected officials who will value and support a strong Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, Questioning and Allied(GLBTQA) community throughout Pierce County and the South Sound

Description

We rate candidates for public office using objective non-partisan methods designed to fairly evaluate candidates' commitment to equal rights for GLBTQ citizens. We then publish those results for voters' use. In addition we support legislation that prevents discrimination against GLBTQ people. In Tacoma last November, citizens overwhelmingly voted no on discrimination against GLBTQ people by voting no on initiative 1 which sought out to take away legal protections from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. now is not the time to give up the fight! The way to ensure that the South Sound is governed by people who reflect the values of their community is to find out what they value and share that information with voters. In Seattle, SEAMEC provides that service. Now, Sound TUFF can do it here. In order to keep the momentum going, sound tuff needs Members, volunteers and money to continue our efforts.
