Gifford Cat Shelter is looking for a Director-At-Large to join our Board of Directors. Do you love animals? Have fundraising and business operations experience? Would like to be a hands-on board member? Gifford Cat Shelter, the country's oldest no kill cat shelter, is currently seeking candidates to serve as Director-At-Large of its board. Gifford has humanely cared for and adopted out thousands of cats since the early 1860's. Our animal shelter is well regarded with a proud legacy, a strong future, and a philosophy of caring for each cat as if they were our own. With a small but dedicated staff, the shelter relies on a community of passionate volunteers and board members to sustain its operations and be an active member of the animal welfare community. The Director-At-Large part of Gifford’s governing body, ensuring that mission objectives are fulfilled, overseeing staff and volunteer population, fundraising, finances, and strategic planning. Desired Requirements: Must love cats! Gifford Cat Shelter is looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Directors. Do you love animals? Have finance and/or bookkeeping experience? Would like to be a hands-on board member? Gifford Cat Shelter, the country's oldest no kill cat shelter, is currently seeking candidates to serve as Treasurer of its board. Gifford has humanely cared for and adopted out thousands of cats since the early 1860's. Our animal shelter is well regarded with a proud legacy, a strong future, and a philosophy of caring for each cat as if they were our own. With a small but dedicated staff, the shelter relies on a community of passionate volunteers and board members to sustain its operations and be an active member of the animal welfare community. The Treasurer is a key role, responsible for oversight of the shelter's finances, work with the Shelter Director and board on financial controls and strategy, communication with the shelter's accounting firm, and other related matters. Certain duties are tactical and ongoing, including involvement in the shelter's QuickBooks entries and upkeep, bank accounts and transactions, and control of cash at key fundraising events. Desired Requirements: Must love cats! Gifford Cat Shelter is looking for volunteers to help keep our shelter clean, safe, and friendly for our adoptable cats. Our main need is for volunteers to help with our morning routine - cleaning the shelter, feeding the cats, and some socializing. Priority will be given to applicants who are willing to do cleaning work. We also may have ongoing administrative, maintenance, landscaping, fundraising, promotion, and event opportunities, so apply if you have specific skills that may help us!
