Mission Statement
Our Mission is to grow food, educate, and help low-income DC community members meet their food needs. Our Vision is to serve as a replicable model of a community-based urban food system.
Description
Common Good City Farm's programs provide hands-on training in growing food, healthy eating and environmental sustainability. We reach DC's neediest families through a "learn for food" initiative whereby participants receive fresh produce in exchange for help on the farm, or by attending free educational workshops. Alternatively, they may subscribe to a very affordable Community Sponsored Agriculture (CSA). We also serve as an education center by providing farm tours, hands-on activities, and workshops to income-qualifying residents, youth, and the public at large who visit the farm as individuals or as groups.
