The Friends of the St. Croix County Fairgrounds supports and encourages the development of interest and participation in agriculture & our agricultural heritage, community service and developing leadership skills, especially by youth of the St. Croix County community, by providing financial, technical, and other assistance. This includes supporting the educational purposes of 4-H, FFA, other community youth organizations, senior citizens and HCE (Home and Community Education) by providing support to the development/renovation of the St. Croix County Fairgrounds & Fairplex and its facilities. The specific purpose of Friends of the St. Croix County Fairgrounds is to support the St. Croix County Fairgrounds and it’s programming. The St. Croix County Fair is the pinnacle of 4-H (20 clubs) & FFA (4 Chapters) project year. The Fair attracts ~ 25,000 attendees/year.
It is the intention of the Friends of the St Croix County Fairgrounds to raise awareness of how the Fairgrounds serve the community and to support local organizations that use the Fairgrounds by both developing facilities that better meet current & future needs as well as funding programming.
This includes raising money for new buildings and the renovation of existing buildings. Upon completion of new facilities and renovation of existing facilities, the organization intends to continue to support local community organizations to expand the use of the Fairgrounds.x.
Fund raising activities to date include working with County 4-H committees to conduct the annual May Fair Event & Sale, Fall Commodity Drive & the Renovations for Generations Raffle. Funds raised by these events plus donations by individuals, businesses & 4-H Clubs have funded renovation of the 4-H Food Stand, conversion of a cattle barn to a sheep barn, completion of a $450,000 Dairy Complex and launch of construction of Horse Barn #1.
Future building goals include construction of a second horse barn & 4-season event center as well as reconovation of the sheep barn.
