Mission Statement

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and wehn he is old he will not depart from it." - Proverbs 22:6 St John the Evangelist Lutheran School has a history of 46 years of dedication to the education of children in the low income area of Williamsburg Public Housing. Our mission is to provide a quality education of religion and academics, infused with multi-cultural enrichments, technological support and full parental participation. We act upon and believe that "it does take a village to raise a child" and our motto, from Proverbs 22:6 as printed on the top of our letterhead is how we practice that adage. Our students are nurtured with love and encouragement to reach the pinnacles of their abilities. Our population is small but mighty. Everyday it is our mission to triumph over the obstacles presented to educating children forward into the 21st century.
