Mission Statement
The mission of FirstLine Schools is to create and inspire great public schools in New Orleans. We do this by directly operating non-selective public schools and by developing training programs for teachers and school leaders across New Orleans.
Description
Joseph S. Clark is a landmark high school in the Tremé neighborhood and it became FirstLine's first charter high school in the 2011-2012 school year. As a FirstLine School, Joseph S. Clark Preparatory High School has a safe, orderly environment, a focus on academics and a variety of enriching experiences, including athletics, art, music, and culinary arts offerings. Clark Prep has three signature programs:
- Clark Freshman Academy is an intensive college prep program
- Clark's 10th - 12th grade core curriculum provides a strong academic foundation that prepares students for college and careers
- The NET, a program for Clark 10-12 that combines project-based learning with internship opportunities.
FirstLine works closely with students, families, alumni and members of the Tremé community to lead the renaissance of this New Orleans cultural landmark.
