Mission Statement

Our goal is to create beautiful, interesting, "green" botanical gardens on campus that can be used to teach a variety of subjects and skills.

Students will be given the opportunity to learn Life Science with hands on experiences in the botanical gardens.

Students will learn to work as a team to accomplish a common goal.

Students will learn to harvest and create things from the garden that can be sold to generate cash and teach small business skills.

Students will use the garden to promote healthy heart living by exercising and eating fresh fruits and vegetables from the gardens.

Students will provide food, water, and shelter for local and migrating wildlife.

Students will be given the opportunity to sit in the peace meadow garden on campus to practice nonviolent conflict resolution.

Description

Fillmore Middle School students and staff are seeking garden loving volunteers to help us improve our botanical gardens on campus. We need volunteers who can help garden, educate, create planters and pathways, identify wildlife, write garden grants, and share career stories with energetic middle school students.
