Mission Statement

A yearly tribute to cinema, the Alexandria Film Festival presents feature-length films, documentaries, animation, and shorts by emerging and established filmmakers to an engaged audience seeking new or rarely seen films.

The mission of the Alexandria Film Festival is to promote cinema as an important cultural and educational asset and market Alexandria as a dynamic venue for creating, exhibiting, and experiencing film.

Description

The Alexandria Commission for the Arts and the Office of the Arts present the 5th annual Alexandria Film Festival November 3 - 6, 2011. The Festival brings high-quality short and feature length films, documentaries, filmmaker panels, and arts presentations to unique and historic venues throughout Alexandria, Virginia.

The festival is an intimate four-day celebration of film in historic Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, located a few miles from Washington, DC. The Festival highlights the talents of local, national, and international filmmakers. Alexandria is home to film producers and enthusiasts, arts patrons, members of Congress and their staff, corporate executives, and other influential groups. The city attracts many visitors and residents of the Washington metropolitan area who value its arts and history community.

The Alexandria Film Festival aims to promote and support the artistry of filmmakers and provide an engaging experience for its audience.
