Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Pass With Flying Colors provides first-generation college-bound students from underserved communities with the skills, tools and self-confidence to enroll in, and graduate from, a four-year college.
The ultimate metric on which we guage our success is college matriculation. To realize this outcome we prepare students to improve their reading level, critical thinking, self-awareness and confidence in advocating for themselves.
Cohorts of 15-20 students work together for all four years of high school on: academic enrichment, leadership development and college readiness. The cohort meets two days/week after school and occasionally on the weekend for service projects and field trips. The program is moderated by a teacher from the school, using a syllabus and materials provided by PWFC.
Each academic year, the students are eligible to participate in experiential learning activities such as a multi-day/night leadership conference, summer enrichment programs on college campuses, and college campus visits. To develop empathy and self-awareness, the cohort conducts a group service project every academic year; the cohort is responsible for selecting and planning the project.
PWFC Scholars graduate from high school with the self-confidence to enroll in, and graduate from, the four-year college of their choice.
