Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The mission of Project Foot is to preserve and restore the family bonds of our service members who are stationed far from home with their relatives at home in the United States.Project Foot achieves this mission through providing communication and travel assistance to our service members and their families. All eligible service members are provided with a no-cost VOIP telephone account and the necessary equipment to install the service as a home landline with a local number in the US city of their choice. Project Foot also provides cash assistance for service members to transport their spouses and/or children to facilitate visits with the rest of the family. Transportation assistance is provided on an as-available basis and preference is given to bereavement travel and towards lower pay-grade service members.
Project Foot offers no-cost phone service with a US phone number to military members and their families. These phone lines utilize VOIP (Voice Over IP) technology and do not require a computer to use. The phone service acts very similar to a regular house phone (with the exception of 911 service) and can be used to make and receive phone calls to the US with no per-minute or toll charges.
The US Phone Anywhere Program is a lifeline to home for many Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen. Many of our service members who are stationed for years at a time in foreign countries have their spouses and children with them abroad. For those spouses and children these phone lines become the "Call Grandma" lifeline to the families back in the United States.
