Mission Statement

The mission of the ITC is to provide high quality training for, and job placement in, occupations in the field of information technology to residents of low-income communities in San Francisco and the wider Bay Area.

Description

The ITC is an initiative organized under the auspices of the San Francisco Workforce Investment Board and represents six premiere employment and training agencies in San Francisco - Arriba Juntos, Bay Area Video Coalition, Glide Tech, Goodwill Industries, Jewish Vocational Service and OpNet - San Francisco City College, San Francisco Housing Authority and Department of Human Services. The ITC has created a local network of career-ladder training and support services that integrates and expands previously isolated programs and agencies. Training is tied to industry-identified job needs, and each participant follows a defined career progression strategy, mastering increasingly advanced job skills along with obtaining valuable work experience. The ITC develops partnerships with SF employers to provide trained IT workers for full-time positions and paid internships for students training for intermediate and advanced IT positions as well as positions in office technology.
