Mission Statement

Primary Mission: "To nurture and promote the cultural arts of Japan".

Description

Our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization presents an annual 2-day Aki Matsuri (Fall Festival) on the Bellevue Community College's main campus. Our primary mission is to "nurture and promote the cultural arts of Japan". The Aki Matsuri activities feature martial arts, culinary art and Japanese food booths, performing arts, fine and craft demonstrations and exhibits, a Shinto ceremony and O-mikoshi (portable shrine) procession on campus. Learn more about our organization, and past events by visiting www.enma.org. Would you like to join us in bringing "Japan to the Pacific Northwest for a weekend"? If so, join us for the 17th annual matsuri in the fall of 2014? We have a multitude of volunteer opportunities depending on your individual skills. At the present we are taking recommendations for 2014/2015 Board members that include in addition to the President, VP, Secretary, and Treasurer, leadership positions to include performing arts, martial arts, fine art & craft exhibits, yatai and culinary art, fund raising, advertising & publicity, Aki Matsuri Program booklet editor & layout, etc.

We also are recruiting for "short-term volunteers" for the weekend of the Aki matsuri in a wide range of tasks. So, if interested we would like to hear from you.

Please contact us for further information. For further information please contact: Thomas (Tom) S. Brooke Tel: (425) 861-7865 e/m: president@enma.org
