Mission Statement

The Texas Civil Rights Project is a non-profit organization that promotes racial, social and economic justice through litigation and education. TCRP's goals are to foster equality, secure justice, ensure diversity and strengthen communities throughout Texas.

Description

TCRP has made substantial gains in making life easier and more just for Texans, with a focus on minorities and low-income persons. TCRP utilizes litigation and education to make structural changes in areas such as voting rights, police and border patrol misconduct, disability rights, sex discrimination, employment bias, post September 11 discrimination, traditional civil liberties (ex. Free Speech), and Title IX in secondary education. TCRP relies heavily on the assistance of law clerks, interns and volunteers in its important, everyday work.
