Mission Statement

To promote a safe environment for all areas protected by the West Sand Lake Fire District No. 1 To respond to fire, medical and other emergencies and to provide non-emergency charitable and educational services for the public good, and further, for the fraternal benefit of the membership of the Department its non-firematic subdivisions.

Description

The department was organized in 1874 for the purpose of protecting the community. The department responds to emergencies of fire, emergency medical and various other calls for assistance. The department also actively fund raises to support those services as well as provides an educational program to the community including schools, senior center, churches, and children's organizations.
