Mission Statement

UNCF is the nation s oldest and most successful African American higher education assistance organization. Our mission is to enhance the quality of education by raising operating funds for member colleges and universities, providing financial assistance to deserving students and supplying technical assistance to member institutions.

Help us give the gift of education...it last a lifetime.

"A mind is terrible thing to waste." But a wonderful thing to invest in...

Description

Since its founding in 1944, UNCF has raised more than $2.3 billion for its member institutions. Over the years, more than 300,000 young men and women have graduated from UNCF member colleges and universities. Today, UNCF supports 39 historically black colleges and universities, and is committed to increasing and improving access to higher education for financially disadvantaged youth by: raising critical dollars to support our students, colleges and faculty; administering educational programs that provide scholarships, internships, research and study-abroad opportunities; and providing technical assistance to help our colleges and universities improve administration, information technology and program development.
