Mission Statement

CSMA is committed to offering excellent and accessible courses, performances and events that promote regional arts understanding and participation. Our efforts are based in a fundamental belief that the arts are vital to our society and our humanity. "Arts for All" is more than a motto. It describes CSMA's deep commitment to enhancing our community by actively reaching across diverse artistic, cultural, educational, economic and generational lines in our efforts to deliver the arts to our broad constituency. Since our founding in 1968 we have provided more than a quarter million Bay Area residents with the greatest gifts of all -- culture, education, and self expression. Everyone is welcome here, regardless of age (preschoolers to senior citizens), level of experience, or economic circumstance.
