Mission Statement

The Jefferson County Head Start Volunteer Program is designed to offer individuals and agencies with an opportunity to work hand-in-hand with Head Start staff in providing high quality services for eligible children and their families. The partnership formed between staff, volunteers, children and their families is intended to provide enrichment in the lives of all those people involved in this experience.

Since 1965, Head Start has nurtured the promise of a better future for low-income children and their families. You can make a difference! By joining the Head Start community or by renewing your commitment to Head Start, you can assist with a program that consistently provides the highest quality services for these children and their families.
