Help a person with special needs & work with horses!

Flexible Schedule | Lakeville, MN 55044

Join us for a season of fun and smiles! We are in need of volunteers with horse experience (to assist with leading horses) and with those that want to help out our riders (horse experience is not required!) Our primary need is to assist our riders with their adaptive horseback riding lesson. Sidewalkers stay near the rider, giving assistance by supporting them on the horse, giving cues on tasks, and reinforcing the instructor's lessons. Horse experience is not necessary, just the willingness to work near them and the ability to walk in an arena or on the trail for an hour at a time. We also need those with horse experience to assist by leading our riders in class. Our classes are held Mondays through Thursdays only. May through Halloween we have afternoon / evening classes (3:30 pm - 8 pm). We are flexible in the times that our volunteers come out - so we will love the help, even if it is just an hour or 2. Our riders love to come out and enjoy their time with horsie friends, please come out and join us to make their experience safe and enjoyable! We will have an online and an in-person training session before classes begin, We will schedule the time when we get you scheduled.

Assist military veterans & work with horses!

Majestic Hills Ranch is looking for volunteers to help military veterans that are in rehabilitation or have medical concerns with their adaptive horseback riding lessons. We need help on Tuesday & Thursday afternoons starting the first week in May. Volunteers must be at least 20 years old, able to walk in a sandy arena for about an hour at a time, and to be able to safely remove an adult rider from a horse in an emergency. Horse and animal experience is NOT needed, just the desire to help our riders, enjoy the outdoors, and work with animals. Training is provided. Please email for details.
