Mission Statement

FHSS helps homeless families. We provide shelter, food, clothing, furniture,and advocacy. Our goals: 1. To help build stronger individuals and families. 2. To help secure education and employment opportunities. 3. To help find safe and affordable permanent housing. 4. To work toward self-sufficiency.Our Precepts: * Nondiscrimination -- We serve families without reguard to color, or creed. * Empowerment -- We try to help each family to develope and use their own personal resources and family and community supports. * Spirituality -- We encourage our guests to develope their spiritual resources.

Description

Organization: We are a grassroots organization with an activist board and a small paid staff supported by many volunteers.The program has three components:FAITH HOME-SHARE & INTERFAITH SHELTER -- Families, congregations, and busines and civic organizations with hearts and homes open to share to shelter homeless families.FAITH CHURCH FOOD PANTRY AND CLOTHES CLOSET -- Food and clothing for homeless and other needy families.THE WEYMOUTH FURNITURE BANK -- Good used furniture, provided free of charge to homeless and needy families and individuals.We encourage volunteer involvement in every area of our program.

This organization is wonderful, and has helped me at one of the lowest points of my life. they helped supply Christmas gifts for my family...my 15 month old twins.. Thank you!
