Mission Statement

Founded in 1974, Naropa University is a private, non-sectarian, liberal arts college inspired by a unique Buddhist heritage and is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Naropa University School of Extended Studies invites internationally renowned scholars and artists to present a variety of innovative offerings. In addition to ongoing and weekend programs, Extended Studies offers professional trainings and certificate programs and provides Continuing Education Credits through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). All programs reflect our perspective of educating the whole person, and are open to the public.

Naropa University provides a contemplative learning environment and coursework integrating the study of traditional liberal arts disciplines with a sensitivity to one's personal growth and journey.
