Mission Statement

CISE provides substantial financial support and builds community awareness for the Cincinnati Catholic Inner City Schools. The schools offer alternative, Christian based, educational opportunties for children and families who are in need, thereby contributing to a better future for Cincinnati's diverse community.

Description

The Catholic Inner-city Schools Education Fund (CISE) was established in 1980 by the late Archbishop Joseph L. Bernardin. With the idea that education is the best way to break the cycle of poverty, CISE was established as a ministry to children in economically depressed neighborhoods in Cincinnati. By providing the opportunity to receive a strong educational and spiritual foundation at a Catholic school, CISE helps low income children overcome the unique challenges of poverty.

CISE provides support for the education of low income students attending eight parochial elementary schools in Cincinnati's neediest neighborhoods. CISE also provides funding for school operations and enrichment programs.
