SPW runs health education and environmental programs in India, Nepal, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda involving young volunteers (aged 18-28 years) from BOTH developed countries and the countries in which we work. All volunteers receive intensive training (up to 6 weeks) before working together in teams in rural communities, raising awareness of important health and environmental issues. Examples include running HIV/AIDS awareness workshops in Tanzanazia or setting up sustainable conservation projects in Nepal. Our programs last from 4-9 months and volunteers are asked to fundraise to cover their costs.
