Mission Statement

Girls Quest's mission is to nurture girls from low-income families in New York to help them achieve their full potential and become active members of their communities by building academic and social competence. This is done through outdoor experiential education, year-round mentoring, and leardership training programs.

Description

Our programs for girls include:

  • Summer Experiential Education and Development Program (SEED)
  • Mentor Program
  • Teen Leadership Program
  • Year Round Engagement Program

Growing up in a low-income family, I understand how tough it is to get ahead. I was lucky to have a mother who was very involved in my studies, whereabouts, etc. Kids that grow up with out everyday interaction with an "authority" figure lose sight of their worth and potential. As a latina and member of my community, it is necessary to help where possible. These children will one day run this world. It is essential they have the necessary tools to make a good start.
