Mission Statement

The purpose for which the corporation is organized is to provide temporary shelter and sustenance for women and their children in times of domestic crisis; to provide educational and counseling services for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence and victims' families; and to undertake all lawful activities for the protection and assistance of victims of sexual assault and domestic violence; and to educate the community.

Description

The Family Crisis Center was established by a group of volunteers in 1981 to respond to the growing number of victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault in Northern Cameron and Willacy Counties.

Domestic violence against women and children in the Rio Grande Valley has been prevalent for may years. Family Crisis Center is an excellent advocate and resource to assist victims of domestic violence by providing many services including emergency shelter, counseling, medical and legal referrals. I would honored to volunteer my services to this worthy and valuable Human Services agency.
