At the time of death, each person must face the extraordinary journey from this life to the next. The Sacred Dying Foundation is committed to transforming the dying experience by reintegrating spiritual and religious practices, and to begin changing the way our society experiences death and dying. The Sacred Dying Foundation is unique in its service to individual and families facing the death of a loved one. It offers traditional as well as innovative and personal rituals. Our highest priority is to reclaim death and dying with respect, honor, and sacredness. We believe that no one should have to die alone. We are also an educational organization that provides information, trainings, resources, counsel, and an international network for those engaged in end of life issues. We work with professionals in hospices, hospitals, nursing homes, medical facilities, and the funeral industry to address multi-religious and multi-cultural practices and beliefs, as well as topical ethics issues. We also work with religious and cultural communities as they examine end of life concerns.
Sacred Dying is a small non-profit dedicated to changing the way our society understands death and dying. We have two primary programs: a grassroots volunteer program to sit with the dying, and a progessional education program in partnership with the University of San Francisco.
