Grace Institute empowers underserved women in the New York area to achieve employment and economic self-sufficiency. Within a supportive and structured environment, Grace Institute provides job-skills training, counseling, placement services and continuous learning opportunities that lead to upwardly mobile employment. Founded over 115 years ago, Grace Institute offers these services so that the participants can realize their inherent strength, resilience and limitless potential.
For more than 117 years, Grace Institute has been moving women - women living on government assistance, victims of domestic violence, women working 'off the books’ with no benefits, recent immigrants - transform their lives by providing a pathway out of poverty and a vehicle to earn a living for themselves and their families. Grace encourages women to tap into their inner strength, resilience and limitless potential to become gainfully employed and economically empowered. Grace serves a diverse range of women, ages 18 to 65, through a six-month program that focuses on both the hard and the soft skills needed to be successful in a working environment. After completing the program, our graduates are placed in upwardly mobile administrative and customer support positions in the healthcare, banking, insurance, and tourism industries. Grace provides continuous professional development and networking workshops, events, and opportunities from start to completion and beyond.

I volunteered for the Dress with Grace event not knowing much about the organization before i showed up. The event was very well coordinated and allowed volunteers the opportunity to jump in and help women find appropriate professional clothing and accessories as part of their program.
After attending the event and researching the organization more, I would absolutely recommend the Grace Institute. Happy to volunteer here again in the future.
