History GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundationâ s largest fund-raising event. More than 100,000 people come out each year to â take steps to cure cystic fibrosis (CF)â at nearly 600 walk sites across the country. In 2002, more than $19 million was raised for the research and care programs of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Nationally, in 2003, GREAT STRIDES hopes to raise more than $21 million for vital CF programs. Who Participates? GREAT STRIDES appeals to a large variety of the American population. There is significant participation from corporations, civic groups, schools, and families. In 2002, 3000 participants took steps to cure CF in New Jersey. This year, the Greater New Jersey Chapter hopes to raise $850,000 with the help of you and your company! Why Participate?
