Description

Xanthos, a comprehensive family support services agency offering more than 20 programs to the community including Alameda Head Start, Alameda Community Recovery Services, Alameda Family Services, Tri-High School Health Services, Smart Healthy Babies, and DreamCatcher - the only emergency shelter for runaway and homeless youth in all of Alameda County. Services range from domestic violence prevention programs, drug and alcohol intervention and diversion programs, anger management classes, early childhood education, crisis management, family and individual counseling services, health clinics in the local public high schools, support groups for a variety of populations, and street outreach efforts to the county's homeless youth. Approximately 10,000 individuals are served each year by Xanthos.
