Mission Statement
The Humboldt Arts Council believes in the aesthetic and spiritual authority of the arts: those stirring images, gestures and sounds which connect our inner and outer world and enrich our individual and communal lives with their expressive and communicative power. The Council is dedicated to the support of the arts and artistic activity in the North Coast region and strives to bring rich heritage thereof more fully into community life.
Description
On January 1, 2000, Humboldt Arts Council opened the Morris Graves Museum of Art in the beautifully renovated Carnegie Free Library building in Eureka, CA. The Morris Graves Museum of Art gracefully houses seven premier galleries; a young artists' academy; a performance rotunda for music, dance and the literary arts; and the administrative offices of Humboldt Arts Council.
