Mission Statement

We will provide public safety communications to individuals, organizations, and government agencies to save lives, prevent injuries, and give assistance wherever and whenever needed. We will strive to establish a monitoring network of trained volunteer citizen-based communicators using any and all available means to deliver the message.

Description

We are a growing local chapter of a 40 year old International Organization. We are looking for persons interested in participating in motorist assistance patrols, base station monitoring, traffic and accident reporting, race/walk event assistance. Activities include those listed in the Mission Statement, Training and Education Seminars (Emergency Communications, Radio Procedures, Incident Command, Traffic Control, etc.), and others. Those with an interest in radio communications and community service are encouraged to apply! No experience necessary, just a desire to help and learn.

All I want to do here is to tell why I think CircleCityReact is so great. It was about 50 years ago, and I had amde friends with a couple who lived across the hall in my building. The husband was on Shadeland, and I don't even remember why now, but the police had stopped him and were about to arrest him, thinking he was drunk. He had my phone number, and someone suggested that CircleCityReact call me to let his wife know what was happening (they didn't have a phone in their apt). I told React that he didn't drink at all, but that he was "slow" because of some vicious attack when he was younger. They told the police, and they let him go. React are heroes in my opinion, and I never forgot that incident.
