Mission Statement

To reduce the incidence of Juvenile System involvement by providing a supportive one-on-one relationship with a boy or girl between the ages of 6 and 17, in order to help the youth improve his/her sense of self-worth and ability to function in society.

Description

Complete an application, must be 18 or older, have own transportation, spend 2 hours per week with a assigned youth. Attend a six hour training session.

Harnett County has a lot of youth that need direction and guidance. I believe in preventive maintenance. Maybe if we as adults took the time to listen and talk to our youth, along with being real and honest, then just maybe we could save some of them from ending up in trouble or destroying their lives. Really letting them know that we truly and honestly love them even when we do not agree with them. If we can do something to help educate and save some of them in Harnett County then that will lesson the number of school dropouts, troubled teens in North Carolina.
