Description

Barlow Respiratory Hospital was founded in 1902 by Dr. Walter jarvis Barlow as a tuberculosis sanatorium. The hospital is still located in its original location on Stadium Way in Elysian Valley next to Dodger Stadium.

Since it's founding, Barlow Respiratory Hospital has evolved into a 105-bed, long-term, acute care hospital with satellite facilities in Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital (Whittier) and Valley Presbyterian Hosptial (Van Nuys).

Today, the hospital is recognized as one of the nation's leading centers for treating pulmonary diseases and for clinical research.
