Every student will develop to his/her fullest academic, physical, and emotional potential. The basic skills of speaking, reading, writing and computing will be developed through an academic emphasis in the subject areas. Critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, physical skills and self -confidence will expand from this base. To accomplish this, the full cooperation of the home will be actively solicited, particularly in the areas of homework and daily school attendance. Learning will take place in a safe and encouraging atmosphere with reasonable standards of discipline expected of all students. Sheridan students will excel.

Description

Sheridan Elementary School is located in the Oceanview-Ingleside District. We serve students from Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade. Our teachers offer students a curriculum based on California state standards, with a rigorous use of effective solution strategies, setting priorities for program improvements, and ongoing monitoring of results. Teachers provide students with daily lessons that stimulate their thinking and allow students to explore the world around them. We have a computer lab, which offers every student the opportunity to practice Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Reading, Writing, Project-Based Learning skills. Sheridan students are happy and eager to learn. In addition, we have the EXCEL YMCA After School Learning Program for students in 1st through fifth grades. The program offers team sports, dance, music, and art lessons, and help with homework.
