Would you recommend Unity - Leaders in Hospice and Palliative Care?
Caring staff, compassion, diligence, flexibility, training, diversity of volunteer opportunities, and TEAM are just a few of the words I would use to describe why I volunteer with Unity. Behind each of my visits with patients and families is a devoted staff and support. Multiple types of volunteer opportunities are made available to me: companion sitting, transportation, office help, wrapping Christmas gifts, bereavement visits by phone, or notes, running errands, etc. Flexibility of scheduling is a must in my life right now and the volunteer coordinators work hard to accommodate my available time. It is a privilege and honor to meet and assist families and their loved ones during a difficult time in life's journey! Unity supports the volunteers during this process,as well, which is very comforting! So, yes, I would definitely recommend Unity as an organization for which to volunteer!
Unity provides a wonderful service. They do not pressure me to volunteer and are very accomodating if I need to cancel due to my schedule. They have a wonderful volunteer training program. I would strongly recommend Unity for anyone that is looking to volunteer.
I have been a volunteer for Unity Hospice for over 6 years. The staff is always accommodating to my schedule, helpful with information and requests for additional training and opportunities. The patients are always so happy for any assistance they are given. The reward is in touching lives and being part of an organization where compassion is the focus.
I truly enjoy volunteering at Unity. I've had the opportunity to help in the kitchen at the residence either baking cookies, serving dinner, or preparing holiday meals. I've also had the opportunity to promote Unity in the community at local health fairs. Unity treats their volunteers like family.
Unity has a great volunteer training program. The staff at Unity are very friendly and helpful. I have done companion sitting which is a great opportunity for the families of a patient to get away for awhile and rejuvinate themselves and they are so thankful for this time. I have also made rememberence Bears and Pillows. Families that request/receive these are so appreciative to receive something so special to remember thier loved one by.
