MISSION

The mission of CRF is to acquire and manage resources for community based charitable programs which provide opportunities for youth, families, and individuals to develop and strengthen their resiliency skills through support, education, information, and community involvement.

The mission of the Stanwood-Camano Community Resource Center is to provide opportunities for youth, families, and individuals to develop and strengthen their resiliency skills through support, education, information, and community activities and thereby foster a healthy community. We operate on the following family support principals:

  • Planned and owned by the community
  • Emphasis is on prevention of problems
  • Focus on strengths and capabilities
  • Family-centered approach
  • Diversity is central
  • Community works in partnership

The Stanwood-Camano Community Resource Center offers a variety of programs resulting from the ideas and interests of the community. New ideas are the building blocks of the Stanwood-Camano Community Resource Center. The community provides the ideas and we provide the opportunity and resources for those ideas to come to life.

VISION

Community Resources Foundation envisions a thriving and connected community, one in which all of its members have dependable access to resources that enrich and empower their lives; a community to which all of its members feel they can belong; one in which everyone has a chance to both contribute and receive; and a community in which everyone can feel fulfilled by their involvement.

Community Resources Foundation

HISTORY

The Community Resources Foundation(CRF) was founded in 1997 as a nonprofit community service organization to take over the work begun by Deaconess in July, 1992 of operating the Stanwood-Camano Community Resource Center. The foundation is operated by a board of nine members from the community and currently employs an executive director, a program & facilities coordinator, a resource coordinator and an administrative assistant who staff the Stanwood Camano Community Resource Center and Davis Place Teen Center.

From the time the Stanwood Camano Community Resource Center opened its doors in 1992, it has served as a resource for the community and a link between community members and organizations serving the community. The Center offers a variety of educational and fun programs for youth and adults. "Morgan's Tales, the used book store, operated by the center provides volunteer opportunities and vocational training for teens. All of the centers programs and activities focus strengthening and empowering individuals and families and increasing their capacity to succeed.
