Mission Statement

My name is Nicole Evans, the volunteer coordinator at Cherokee Heights Elementary school.

The goal of Believe*Achieve tutoring is to bring in volunteer tutors from the community and place them with students in the classroom to help them start acheiving at the education standard.

Cherokee heights is a 97% poverty school, with an extremely diverse student base: 48% Latino, 23% African American, 14% Hmong, and 9% White, American Indian or Somali.

Description

Volunteers will be placed in usually a 3rd-6th grade classroom during scheduled reading or math time and work either one-on-one or in a small group with students.
