The YWCA of Black Hawk County is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

Description

Since 1911, the YWCA has worked relentlessly to create opportunities that empower women and girls, advocate for equal opportunities for all people, develop leaders and promote cultural appreciation. Our programming includes the following areas among others.

Safe childcare on a sliding fee scale so that children are not left unsupervised during 'before & after' school hours.

Positive parenting classes and support for young adults to build strong families.

Wellness classes for all ages to improve nutrition, manage stress, and reduce the incidence of health concerns. And,

Leadership and personal development opportunities to empower teens to make healthy decisions now and become responsible adults.
