Description

Santa Clara Valley Blind Center (SCVBC) is a unique agency serving the blind and visually impaired of Santa Clara County. For over 50 years, SCVBC has provided rehabilitative training, educational courses, and social activities to individuals experiencing vision loss. Our programs provide the critical peer support that helps address the fear and isolation that often accompany vision loss. Courses and activities are free (or very low material cost) to individuals and their families and are designed to meet the specific needs of each individual. SCVBC has created many programs, both individualized and group, in the areas of vision rehabilitation and therapeutic activities. Services include O&M (white cane training), vision loss counseling, adaptive technology and computer training (Apple, Android, PC) Braille, yoga, walking, bowling, ceramics, Wednesday Client Meetings, in home services and more. SCVBC staff also provides outreach to community centers, health fairs, medical facilities and special events. For more info on our services contact us at www.visionbeyondsight.org.
